Stuttgart – In the middle of the Corona crisis, Lotto Baden-Württemberg is lucky itself!
The stakes rose last year by 10.5 percent to 1.08 billion euros, as managing director Georg Wacker announced on Thursday in Stuttgart.
These are the highest stakes in almost 20 years. “That was not to be expected in an environment that could hardly have been more challenging.”
Lottery 6 out of 49 recorded the largest share of the stakes with almost 49 percent. The price increase was accepted by the tipsters. Since the middle of last September, a betting field for the draws on Wednesdays and Saturdays now costs 1.20 euros instead of the previous 1 euro.
Lotto Baden-Württemberg is also the lead company for the main product of the German Lotto and Totoblock. As a result of the higher stakes, not only are higher jackpots possible, but also in the lower ranks there are slightly higher winnings.
In 2020, the total winnings distributed by Lotto Baden-Württemberg were 528.9 million euros. The state always wins when it comes to gambling: A total of 416.3 million euros flowed into the state budget.
