Sponsored by billionaire mother and daughter win all excursion

This prize went to the right people!

When the billionaire Richard Branson, founder of the company “Virgin Galactic”, which specializes in space excursions, snuck with a camera team to a house in the Caribbean state of Antigua and Barbuda this week, the two residents had no idea what was about to happen to them.

A moment later, Branson is standing on the porch. When the homeowner Keisha Schahaff (44) sees him, her eyes open wide, screams with joy and takes her hands over her face in disbelief. She won two tickets worth a total of $ 900,000 to fly into space!

Schahaff wants to take her 17-year-old daughter Ana into space. All the better: The teenager is currently studying astrophysics in Great Britain and dreams of a job at the US space agency Nasa.

Her mother took part in a lottery on an online platform that raised money for a non-governmental organization that wants to give people access to space. The minimum contribution was ten dollars. Over a period of eight weeks, 165,000 people took part, raising $ 1.7 million. How much Schahaff paid into the lottery pot was not known.

“When Richard Branson came over, I started screaming. I couldn’t believe it, ”said Schahaff, still overwhelmed by the AFP news agency’s win.

“I’ve always had a love for flying and a fascination for space. This is really a dream come true for me. It means the world to me that I share this experience with my daughter and I hope that together we can inspire the next generation to follow their dreams, ”said Keisha Schahaff, according to a statement from“ Virgin Galactic ”.

On July 11th, Branson flew into space on a globally recognized test flight with one of his company’s space planes.
