The announcements follow one another and look alike. Not a day, now, without an automobile factory announcing the interruption of its assembly lines, for lack of semiconductors. The latest, the British J aguar Land Rover said on Thursday that it was temporarily stopping production in two of its three factories across the Channel, in Castle Bromwich and Halewood, which respectively employ 1,900 and 3,800 workers: a suspension of activity which will begin this Monday, April 26, “for a limited period,” said the manufacturer.

“Like other automakers, we are currently experiencing supply chain disruptions related to Covid-19, including the availability of semiconductors. This has an impact on our production plans and our ability to meet global demand for some of our vehicles, ”he explained.
