Hamburg – Horror accident on Wandsbeker Chaussee!
A polo hit a pedestrian on Sunday evening. The 26-year-old breaks through the windshield.
But the driver sped on with the man on the bonnet, finally the passer-by fell on the asphalt and was run over by the car. The young man behind the wheel of the Polo raced away!
It was 8:54 p.m. when several emergency calls came in on 112. A little later, the ambulance and the ambulance stopped. The seriously injured pedestrian had to be resuscitated on the way to the hospital. His life is in danger.
Accident witnesses reported to the police that the pedestrian had crossed the six-lane Wandsbeker Chaussee from the Hammer Strasse side to Brauhausstrasse when it was red. The Polo drove into town in the middle lane.
It is still completely unclear why the Polo driver did not brake after the collision. The police initiated a large-scale manhunt. About an hour after the accident, a 21-year-old turned up at police station 31 (Uhlenhorst) – as an accompaniment: his father.
The badly damaged Polo was found parked on the side of the road in Lortzingstrasse (Barmbek) and secured.
Criminal proceedings are now under way against the Polo driver for fleeing a traffic accident. The investigation continues.
