The Romanian Nane-Iosana Bodea (23) from Vienna visited the waterfalls on the Thai island of Ko Samui at the weekend – together with her Austrian friend Manuel O. (22).

At some point, the 23-year-old climbed to the top of a waterfall and posed for a selfie. But then she slipped on the wet, mossy surface – and fell 15 meters!

Friend Manuel immediately followed, trying to revive his girlfriend. But the alarmed paramedics could only determine Bodea’s death.
Bodea is not the first tourist to have a fatal accident at this point: Frenchman Bastien Palmier (33) died in 2019 – also while taking a selfie.
