Wasungen / Jüchsen – After the illegal carnival parade in Jüchsen, the mayor, club and police fear more elevators on the carnival weekend. The initiators face high fines.
“Such calls have been circulating in social networks for a good two weeks,” says Thomas Kästner (42, non-party), Mayor of the carnival stronghold Wasungen. “All celebrations and parades were canceled in September last year.” He appeals to the junkies: “Don’t provoke, stay at home!”
This is also underlined by Martin Krieg (69), President of the Wasung Carneval Club: “In a time when people are dying of Corona, fools shouldn’t be celebrating. The police in Suhl are prepared, spokeswoman Julia Kohl: “We have indications of possible activities, we will be on duty with additional staff on these days.”
According to the district office, 40 to 50 people violated the Corona requirements during the illegal light measurement parade with around 90 participants in Jüchsen. The initiators of the move face fines between 2000 and 3000 euros.
