F1 racing, Saudi Arabian GP: New, fastest and longest street race

(Sports news – F1 racing news) The battle to win the 2021 season championship becomes more interesting when taking place on a completely new track.

Qatar GP . stage

After a total of 20 intense races passed, the drivers are preparing for another extremely exciting race. The 21st round will be held for the first time at Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Saudi Arabia, the 34th country to host an F1 race.

Jeddah Corniche Circuit before and after it was completed

The track was built in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, located along the coast of the Red Sea. With this appearance, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit becomes the longest street race on the F1 calendar, and the second longest of all races, behind only Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

And even more amazingly, this is only a temporary (albeit partially permanent) street race, while another project for 2023 is underway at Qiddiya, 40 km from the center of Riyadh. Although only temporary, the total construction time was only 8 months, and was just completed before the race.

Tires used in Saudi Arabian GP

Coming to a new track in a row, Pirelli brings 3 types of tires C2, C3 and C4, familiar choices in the 2021 season. Like the Middle East races, the Saudi Arabia GP will take place under the Jeddah night. FP1 and FP3 will take place just before sunset, and the draw against FP2 will take place at 20:00 local time.

There are currently only 8 points separating Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton on the road to becoming world champion. Behind the two drivers, Mercerdes and Red Bull are only 5 points apart. The scenarios have been outlined. If Max Verstappen wants to win the championship soon, he needs to be in the top 2, and his opponent has to finish 6th or worse. And Mercerdes needs to find a way to increase the gap to 40 points after the next race to be able to celebrate soon.

In addition, there are still other matches that can be decided soon. Valtteri Bottas will keep the 3rd place if he increases the gap to 13 more points. As for the 5th place, Lando Norris is leading Charles Leclerc by only 1 point, and Carlos Sainz is also not far behind with only 7.5 points.

As for the racing teams, Ferrari is currently safely leading McLaren to 39.5 points. Just add 5 more points and they firmly hold the 3rd place in hand. Alpine, after leaving Qatar, is currently leading by 25 points, almost the opportunity for AlphaTauri is no longer there.

Like the previous race, this one is completely new, and seems to be dedicated to F1. High speed on a street track, and happening under the lights along the shores of the Red Sea, coupled with dramatic events not to be missed, all the elements come together for an epic race.
