The 57-year-old was driving his VW on Wednesday at 4:10 p.m. from Dessau-Roßlau in the direction of Oranienbaum, when he suddenly got into the opposite lane for an unexplained cause and crashed into a Fiat.
“Due to the force of the impact, the Fiat car was thrown against a tree next to the road. The VW car collided at the same time with a Nissan car of a 47-year-old man from Lutherstadt Wittenberg, which was in flow traffic, ”said a police spokesman.
Any help came too late for the trapped VW driver. He died at the scene of the accident. The Fiat driver, who was also trapped in his car, was seriously injured. The third party involved in the accident got away with minor injuries and the shock.
