Bloody attack outside a club near Miami, Florida.
Three strangers shot arbitrarily at concert guests early on Sunday morning (local time). Two people died on the spot and at least 20 others were injured and taken to hospitals for treatment, Miami-Dade county police said.
The suspects arrived at the club after midnight in a white SUV. They got out and “started shooting randomly into the crowd,” it said. Then the perpetrators fled.
Police chief Alfredo Ramirez promised on Twitter that the “cold-blooded murderers” would be brought to justice. The act is a “targeted and cowardly act of gun violence”.
Fatal firearms attacks are repeated in the United States. Last year, more than 43,000 people died, including suicides, from firearms in the country, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
US President Joe Biden condemned gun violence as an “epidemic” and “international disgrace” last month.
Biden recently decided to tighten the rules of the very loose gun law, but he would need the approval of Congress for more far-reaching reforms. There, legislative proposals fail time and again due to the resistance of the conservative Republicans.
