Samsung sold 76.5 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2021. After which Samsung’s market share was 22 percent. During this time, 66 percent increase was seen in the revenue from the smartphone business. Smartphone was the important role of Galaxy S21 series phones in the company’s earnings. At the same time, Apple sold 52.4 million iPhones during the first quarter. After which the market share of the company was 15 percent. With this, the company stood at number two. In this, the company’s iPhone 12 series was the most sought after.
Oppo and Vivo also increased demand
According to the report, the first quarter of this year saw a surge in the demand for smartphones of Oppo and Vivo brands. Another Chinese company, Huawei, suffered the loss of the ban imposed by the US. Huawei ranked number 7 due to this. The company sold around 18.6 million smartphones, including Honor brand smartphones.
