Neubrandenburg (Mecklenburg-West Pomerania) β The damage is now in the millions. More than 70 boat sheds went up in flames during three fire attacks on Lake Tollense near Neubrandenburg.
Wednesday, 2.30 a.m. on Schillerstrasse: Several fire brigades are already racing to the boat shed on Obergraben, from which leisure captains set off for Lake Tollense. Many have already lost their boats in two suspected attacks (five boat sheds burned in mid-April and 50 mostly occupied boat sheds on May 5). There will be a few more tonight.
Up to ten boat sheds and boats fell victim to the flames on Wednesday night.
On May 5, about 60 boat sheds at the facility caught fire
The fire was under control after a few hours. Now the detective is on site again, securing tracks. The investigators say they are investigating on suspicion of arson. An expert had already determined this after the second fire on May 5th.
This time around ten boat sheds and boats were destroyed
The damage that the arsonists have caused so far is more than 1.3 million euros, according to conservative estimates.
There were a total of about 400 boat sheds in the complex at Obergraben. Now there are just under 330 left.
