Düsseldorf – The corona situation at schools in NRW remains stable. According to information from School Minister Yvonne Gebauer (54, FDP), 95.9 percent of students currently take part in face-to-face classes. That’s even a little more than last week.
According to Gebauer, 94.2 percent of teachers attend lessons on site. However, some things will change: There should be no school trips until the end of March, the start of the Easter holidays. Trips that have already been planned should be canceled, new trips for this period may not even be approved.
In order to reduce the risk of infection in schools, the previously possible staggering of the start of school from 7.30 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. can be extended to the period from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The early start should mainly apply to older students in vocational schools.
In the dispute over hybrid teaching, Gebauer insists that 50 percent of the students in a city should not be sent to distance teaching. This decision depends on the infection situation at each individual school.
