Renault returns to the offensive. “If I had to summarize this plan with a slogan, it would be: shift our focus from volume to value”, launched Luca de Meo, the new CEO of Losange, on Thursday presenting his major strategic plan. Six months after his arrival at the head of the group, the ex-boss of Seat clearly announces his desire to turn the page on the Ghosn era and open a new chapter in the history of the former Régie.
Called “Renaulution”, this plan should take place in three stages: “Resurrection” (2021-2023) will focus on lowering costs and reorganization, as well as on preparing the next product plan. It is during the second phase, “Renovation” (2023-2025), that models will begin to be launched which should make it possible to restore profitability over the long term. The third stage, “Revolution” (after 2025), finally, will have to propel the group into the new era of the automobile – one where the car manufacturer should also become a supplier of mobility services.
