The second Friday of February is a very special day! The day is a calendar palindrome. That means: You can rotate the date horizontally as you want – the sequence of numbers always reads the same: 02/12/2021.
An exceptionality that many of our ancestors were never allowed to experience!
However: anyone who is 20 years old today has already seen six of these calendar beauties. The last day of the palindrome was only one year ago (02/02/2020).
By the way, February 2, 2020 was a palindrome day worldwide! Because the way data is written varies in many countries around the world. While in this country you write day / month / year, in the USA you usually write month / day / year. Another form is common in Asia and Canada: year / month / day.
The word palindrome comes from the ancient Greek palíndromos and means “going backwards”.
It will take a whole 100 years until the next eight-digit palindrome – on December 12, 2121. And then humanity will have to be patient for 909 years – until 03.03.3030.
