New Zealand: Corona scam! Man gets vaccinated ten times a day

What kind of crazy action is THAT?

A man in New Zealand is said to have received a vaccination against the coronavirus up to ten times in just one day for money. The man was probably paid for by others, reported the news portal “Stuff” on Saturday.

Exactly where this fraud took place and how it was discovered was initially not known. In New Zealand, those wishing to vaccinate do not have to identify themselves.

The Ministry of Health expressed concern and launched an investigation. Doctors described the behavior of both the man and those who paid him to vaccinate as “dangerous, stupid and selfish,” according to “Stuff”. It was said that vaccination is important precisely because of the circulating delta variant of the virus.

A doctor added that on the first day after the vaccination, the man should not have been doing very well. The Ministry of Health advised all people who received more doses than recommended to seek medical advice as soon as possible.

In a similar case in Germany, in which the “overdose” vaccine was administered accidentally, however, the vaccine manufacturer Biontech gave the all-clear: A Biontech spokeswoman referred to experiments with increased doses. Instead of the usual vaccination dose (30 micrograms), up to 100 micrograms were administered – serious consequences did not materialize.

Many New Zealand shops and establishments require proof of full vaccination to enter. About 89 percent of New Zealanders are fully vaccinated. With a population of five million people, there have been around 12,500 cases of infection and 46 deaths since the beginning of the corona pandemic.
