BrotherLaura Hampson has been wearing matching outfits with her daughter, Darlene, since she was born.

To date, the 39-year-old mother from Wigan, Manchester (UK) has had 150 pairs of outfits with her 19-month-old daughter.

Laura said it all started when Darlene was just a few days old. Darlene was wearing a yellow striped jumpsuit at the time. Laura realized she had the same outfit, so she took it out and asked her husband, Daryl, to take a picture of the mother and daughter. “We had so much fun,” Laura recalls.

From then on, Laura dressed up with her daughter twice a week. Instead of traditional baby clothes, she buys clothes with stylish designs and patterns for Darlene. Mother and daughter especially love polka dots and animal skins.

To save money, Laura hunts for discounts online or buys second-hand. She also chooses to buy clothes that are a bit too big for her daughter to wear for a long time. Sometimes, Laura herself fixes or dyes Darlene’s clothes so that they are identical. Not only showing love to her daughter, wearing couple clothes also helps Laura relax because Darlene was born during the blockade in the UK.

Each couple’s outfits were photographed by Laura and posted on social media. “People’s feedback has been very positive. They love seeing us mix and match,” Laura shared.

Currently, Laura has prepared 20 clothes for mother and daughter to wear in the spring. The mother insists that she will continue to wear matching clothes with her child until Darlene gets bored.

“I’m so lucky to have a daughter. I think she will love fashion as much as I do,” Laura added.
