Büdingen – In the tranquil 2700-inhabitant village of Düdelsheim, the world’s largest drive-in cinema took place at the weekend – with toy cars.
More than 4000 vehicles – including police cars, buses, tractors – were parked on 16 square meters on the fairground. The crowning glory of the Büdinger drive-in cinema 2.0.
Comedian and co-organizer Boris Meinzer (47): “The topic of drive-in cinema has been very present in our family in recent weeks. One of my sons then also played a drive-in cinema himself in the nursery. So the idea came up to implement the whole thing on a larger scale. “

After a call, Wetterau toddlers brought boxes of toy cars over on Sunday. Due to the corona, two families took over the two-hour setup. “A heavy rain gave us a full car wash,” laughs Meinzer. Not only the largest drive-in cinema in the world, but certainly also the most climate-neutral one.
