Michelin is not a company like any other. First of all, it is one of the rare groups of the CAC 40 whose head office is not in Paris. Florent Menegaux, his boss, 58, is living in Clermont-Ferrand with his family. Then it’s a limited partnership. The particularity ? It is headed by a chairman of the management, partner in the sponsorship and therefore responsible “indefinitely” on his personal assets for Michelin debts. This status of “Amazon” – a term we owe to management professor Michel Ferrary – has just been confirmed by three important appointments. Barbara Dalibard, a former executive of Orange and SNCF, will become chairman of the sponsorship supervisory board at the end of the ordinary general meeting convened in 2021. She replaces Michel Rollier. A double first: she is a woman and she is not related to the Michelin family, unlike all of her predecessors.
