Hanover – The number of new corona infections every day remains at a high level in Lower Saxony. On Christmas Day, 1,332 new cases were transmitted, according to the figures from the State Health Office in Hanover.
In the meantime, 101,650 people across the country have been proven to be infected with the novel virus. The seven-day incidence fell slightly to 119.0 the national average. The number of those who died in connection with the pandemic rose by 7 across Lower Saxony to 1,770.
The district of Vechta was hit hardest by the second wave of infections on Friday with an incidence of 224.8. Close behind with 224.6 was the Grafschaft Bentheim, where exit restrictions have been in effect since Wednesday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
In the state capital Hanover, too, the critical value has increased significantly in recent weeks – to 177.6. The district of Cloppenburg, which was badly affected for months, was only 151.2.
