Leica, a German company famous for making digital cameras and lenses, is all set to establish its foot in the smartphone segment. In this sequence, Leica has launched its first smartphone handset Leitz Phone 1. Earlier, many smartphones with Leica cameras were seen launching in the market, which currently used to come in partnership. At the same time, now the company has launched its first smartphone handset Leitz Phone 1 in the market.
Leica’s Leitz Phone 1 smartphone has been launched in Japan by SoftBank. It looks similar to the Aquos R6 that was recently launched by Sharp last month. The special thing about this smartphone is its camera which comes with a 1-inch 20 MP camera sensor setup. It has a 12.6 MP selfie shooter front camera which is also given in the Sharp Aquos R6 smartphone.
Leica’s Leitz Phone 1 smartphone phone works on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC processor. It comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and 5,000mAh battery. In this, users get a special ‘Leitz Looks’ feature that helps in taking monochrome photos and videos. It has a 6.6-inch UXGA+ (2,730×1,260 pixels) OLED display.
Talking about the price of the phone, it is a very expensive phone. Its price is 187,920 yen or $1,696, which is estimated to be approximately Rs. At present, this Leica smartphone has been launched in Japan only. No official disclosure has been made on when it will come to other countries including India.
Competing with Apple’s iPhone 13
