Leipzig: “Click & Collect” finally started in Saxony

Since Monday, Saxony has also been the last federal state to allow “Click & Collect” to collect pre-ordered goods from the shop door. Many retailers are taking part – including also shops in the “Höfe am Brühl”.

“Click & Collect was overdue. Saxony has hesitated far too long here, ”criticized Leipzig Chamber of Commerce President Kristian Kirpal. “Small dealers in particular have been waiting desperately for this at least minimal opportunity to make some sales again and not let the contact with customers tear off any further.”

For florists and booksellers, the implementation is perhaps easier than for shoe shops, “where appraisal and fitting of the goods play a role in the purchase decision.” However, the dealers would “find creative solutions to reach their customers”.

“Nevertheless,” says Kirpal, “we urgently need further, real opening perspectives in all areas. With a pick-up service alone, no restaurant or retailer will be able to survive any longer. “

Peter Hinke (54), “Wörtersee” in Peterssteinweg: “That can only be the beginning. The most urgent task is to revitalize the city center, because pick-up stations are not enough. In the book trade, it is important to be able to talk to customers about a book. “
