2022 promises to be another packed year for Apple and the iPhone. The iPhone 13 is already the most popular smartphone in the market and the next generation model will be announced in September. Based on the leaked photos and schematics, there are many things to say about the iPhone 14. If Apple’s track record is any indication, the iPhone 14 lineup will be another hit, but this year, it may come with a few changes. Here we know everything about the iPhone 14 series.
It seems that this time there will be no iPhone 14 Mini. A report has predicted the absence of the iPhone 14 mini. We don’t know the exact release for discontinuing the iPhone 14 mini, but it looks like the iPhone 13 mini isn’t selling as well as Apple initially expected. That being said, Apple will still sell four different models in the iPhone 14 lineup – two on the high-end, two on the low-end. However, the iPhone 14 Mini will be replaced by the iPhone 14 Max, which will reportedly feature a 6.7-inch screen. A cheaper model but with a bigger screen.
Don’t expect the iPhone 14 to have a notch-less display yet. Renders leaked in the past few months indicate that Apple may introduce the iPhone 14 with a hole-and-pill-shaped display. The hole-and-pill sized display can be seen on many Android smartphones but this is the first time that Apple will introduce a punch-hole sized notch on the iPhone 14. Apple first introduced the notch display on the iPhone X in 2017, and has been on every iPhone ever since. The hole-punch cut-out will allow Apple to offer a larger display, while leaving room for the front-facing camera.
