Milan – In the Italian community of San Giuliano Milanese, two women (28, 32) were found dead in a corn field on Saturday.
The two native Moroccans went out into nature on Friday and told their families that they would be back late, reports the newspaper “Corriere della Sera”.
An emergency call came in around 11.30 a.m.: “Help, a combine harvester ran over us. My girlfriend is dead and I am injured, ”said a woman’s voice in Arabic. Then the connection was broken and the cell phone could no longer be reached.
The call was too short to pinpoint the exact location of the call. Police, civil defense and fire brigade searched the area. Even a helicopter was on duty. It was not until 8 p.m. on Saturday evening that police found the two women lying lifeless in a corn field.
The circumstances of death have not yet been clarified, the investigations are ongoing. Prosecutor Domenico Chiaro told the newspaper “Il Fatto Quotidiano” that no combine harvester had been found near where the bodies were found. It is also unclear whether it was an accident or a violent crime.
