Serious traffic accident on the A63 in Rhineland-Palatinate!
According to the police in Rhineland-Palatinate, a woman (31, blue sports car) from Rüsselsheim and a man (32, green sports car) from Alzey had an illegal car race on the A63 in the direction of Mainz on Friday afternoon – there was a serious accident, in which four people were injured. Those involved were provisionally arrested.
The police had to close the motorway for more than four hours! The traffic could not continue until 9:40 p.m.
That happened: When on Friday afternoon a woman (65, including a passenger) who was not involved in the race, started overtaking another vehicle with her small white car and changed lanes, the woman in the blue sports car is said to have driven into her rear at clearly excessive speed. There was a collision. The speeding woman’s car: a wreck!
According to the police, the elderly lady had no chance to avoid the alleged speeder. The two women in the small white car suffered serious injuries and were immediately taken to the nearest hospital. The women in the blue sports car (driver and passenger) were also slightly injured.
The two participants in the car race were provisionally arrested, but released from custody after being questioned. The public prosecutor’s office has started the investigation.
