In Brandenburg: Two horses break into the ice – dramatic rescue!

Dramatic rescue operation on the ice night on Tuesday in Brandenburg: At around 2.50 a.m., the police were informed about free running horses in Basdorf (Barnim).

In the riding stable there, the owner found that two horses were missing. The woman and the officers went on a search. A short time later they found a horse that had broken into a moat.

The owner called a vet and the fire department. Now they joined forces to try to free the horse. Vain.

A horse farm owner called to help was then able to help out the fire fighters with a tractor. Straps were attached to its fork. So it was possible to free the horse from its predicament.

The second animal was discovered around 500 meters away from the first – it had also broken into a moat. Here, too, the rescue was achieved by means of a tractor and fire brigade.
