Friedrichshafen – Incredible: A man is said to have run over a seven-year-old boy in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance and then fled without taking care of the seriously injured child.
As the police announced on Friday, the driver could be located about 20 minutes later because he was walking back to the scene of the accident.
According to the investigators, the boy was probably not paying attention to the traffic when he tried to cross the street on Thursday evening. He was hit by the 57-year-old’s car, thrown onto the bonnet and then onto the lane and rolled over. According to witness statements, the driver first got out, saw the child lying under the car and drove away – because he was in shock, as he told the police. It was still unclear whether he ran over the boy a second time while trying to escape.
The man is under investigation. The police confiscated his driver’s license and car. The child was taken to a hospital.
