A whole city says goodbye. The mayor of Treffurt (6000 inhabitants, Thuringia) carries Nadine F.’s (34) urn across the cemetery on Saturday. At the grave, Michael Reinz (50) says: “We have a lot of solidarity here, which helps over a lot. Only Nadine will not bring us back either. “
When the emergency call arrives at the fire brigade’s control center at 8:08 p.m., Marcel F. (35) is also supposed to go out. Nadine F.’s husband does his routine duty that day. He has no inkling of the drama in his apartment. But when the comrades find out the exact address, they don’t take Marcel F. with them. Any help comes too late for his wife. Nadine F.’s body is later found dead in the apartment.
On September 11th, the young mother and wife of a firefighter died in an apartment fire.
“When it was already blazing, Nadine quickly brought her son Levin, who was born in March, up one flight of stairs to the neighbor in her panic,” says Nadine’s sister Daniela Maciuch (31). “She saved Levin’s life with it!”
To this day, it is a mystery to her family why Nadine then went back to the fire in her apartment.
“She had just found her great happiness. We were so happy with her, ”says Sister Daniela. She met her husband Marcel two years ago through the Internet. Son Levin was born in March. On August 8, Nadine and Marcel finally got married.
Her sister knows: “Since then, Nadine has always beamed and was humorous. Because she was happy, just happy. She finally felt that she had arrived in life. “
Since the fire disaster, widower Marcel F. has lived with his son in an apartment below his parents. Mayor Michael Reinz dragged the furniture with him when he moved in. He assures: “If further help is needed, Marcel can call me at any time.”
The broad support moves Sister Daniela to tears. She says: “We will never forget the huge wave of aid that rolled into Treffurt after Nadine’s death.”
And further: “Our Nadine lives on in her son Levin. He should now grow up protected. We will take care of that as a family. “
