Since December, Enis Kocan (39) has been on the list of the most wanted criminals in Europe – until now …
On Saturday, police officers arrested the Slovenian in his Spanish hideout! The Policia Nacional released a video showing plainclothes officers stopping Kocan’s car, dragging him out of his white van and handcuffing him.
Enis Kocan lived with his family under a false name next to a golf course in the posh neighborhood of Sant Vicenç de Montalt northeast of Barcelona.
Kocan earned the money for his life of luxury by smuggling drugs. In 2018, for example, he is said to have tried to get 300 kilograms of heroin from Iran to Europe – but the drug container with goods worth 60 million euros was intercepted in the port of Koper (Slovenia). In his home country, the Slovenian faces ten years in prison.
It was only through close cooperation with the Slovenian police that the Spanish investigators were able to expose Kocan’s false identities and track him down in the luxury suburb. In order not to cause a stir in the close-knit neighborhood, the officers set up an observation post in a nearby forest. After identifying the drug lord, they arrested him along with two Slovenian officers.
