Dresden – Nobody at the bar is surprised that guests have a hangover the morning after a visit to the pub. It’s very rare that they bring a hangover with them…

In the pubs and inns in Radebeul (Saxony) not only Ino Proft (60) is a regular guest, but also his cat “Mursik” (15), nicknamed “Gulasch”.

Tomcat master Proft is a filou. He meandered through life with charm and wit, trained as a locksmith, also worked as a bouncer, and from 1993 to 1995 was even head of security at the traditional football club Dynamo Dresden.

In his hometown he is known like a sore thumb – also because of “Mursik”. In the two restaurants “Dietrichs Erben” and “Sonnenhof” they are part of the inventory.

“Four times a week we take turns going to the inns,” says Proft. While he manages four half liters of “Meißner Schwerter” Pilsner beer, “Mursik” gets milk or water – and even leftovers from the other guests. Proft: “He likes goulash best. Hence his nickname.”

The two have been inseparable for twelve years. “Mursik is actually a Ukrainian. My ex-wife is from there. At that time I took him off the street to Saxony,” says Proft.
