PUBG fans have been waiting for its Indian version Battlegrounds Mobile India for a long time, but these fans may get a setback before its launch. In fact, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has written a letter to the Union IT and Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, demanding a ban on this game. They believe that this game can prove to be a threat to India’s national sovereignty and security. Also it is harmful for the youth.
demand to ban again arose
Along with demanding the ban, CAIT has also asked Google not to allow Battlegrounds Mobile India developer company Crafton not to use the Google Play Store platform for the game. According to CAIT, Battleground Mobile India has features like PUBG and this can put India’s security at risk. The game can leak data of millions of users in India.
This is the stand of the government on banning
An RTI filed by Dr Gaurav Tyagi, assistant professor at JNU, has received replies from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). It has been said in the reply that no game can be banned before its launch. Responding to RTI, the IT Ministry said that the government cannot stop this game from being launched in India. However, under the rule of section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the ministry can ban this game after the game starts.
