Daimler recalls 1.3 million Mercedes cars in the USA – software problem

The automaker Daimler is recalling almost 1.3 million vehicles in the USA. It is about possible problems with software that should transmit the location of the car in the event of an accident, the group announced on Saturday.

The decision to call back was made after the company learned of an accident in Europe in which the automatic emergency call system had reported the wrong position of the vehicle. The company began an investigation in October 2019 and found other similar incidents – all outside of the United States, a company spokesman said.

The software error should now be corrected by an update.
