Bremen – between emergency brake and curfew

Bremen – The quick tests in schools are becoming more and more popular.

While only around 20,000 students tested themselves for Corona in the first week, it was around 32,500 in the past week.

The number of school employees also rose from 4,700 to 7,600. 23 rapid pupil tests were positive. The following PCR tests confirmed 15 cases. The teachers initially gave three positive rapid tests, none of which was confirmed in the laboratory.

In total, the education authority ordered 1.3 million rapid tests. Over 365,000 have already been distributed to schools. There are currently almost 74,000 pupils listed in the city of Bremen.

The corona situation is meanwhile becoming more and more explosive – the incidence values are increasing daily. Bremen recorded an RKI value of 109.8 yesterday. With this, the city will pull the emergency brake from Monday (including museums closed again, appointment shopping is no longer applicable), the Senate announced in the evening.

Bremerhaven could be hit even harder. According to the RKI, the incidence there rose to 174 and is therefore no longer far from the critical 200 mark. If this value is higher for three days in a row, a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. would come into effect.

The city itself even reported a 7-day incidence of 227, but restrictions are based on the RKI data. Which are usually always updated a little later.
