Bobingen – It should be a joke.
But a father’s proposal to vaccinate his nine-year-old daughter Emma against Corona was taken at face value by a doctor in Bobingen (Bavaria) last Saturday. And quickly vaccinated the child with Biontech.
Now the public prosecutor is investigating the doctor for negligent bodily harm.
“We really thought it was a joke, including the nurse,” the father told a local radio station. His daughter was only supposed to accompany him to his appointment at the local vaccination center. The doctor “suffered a lot” after the misunderstanding and immediately took care of the girl.
“He stroked Emma and got down on his knees right in front of her. Cried bitterly and apologized a thousand times. ”
The Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) currently does not recommend vaccinating adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age. The data from clinical studies are still too small to assess the risks and side effects. According to STIKO, vaccination is only useful in exceptional cases, for example in the case of previous illnesses or contact with high-risk patients. It is not prohibited, the Biontech vaccine has also been approved for adolescents aged 12 and over since June.
For children under this age limit, such as Emma, there is still no approval for a serum against corona. Vaccination is not permitted here.
The vaccination went well for Emma. Her father says his daughter is in top shape.
