Bielefeld – It only looked like an accident, now the police are investigating murder.
On Friday evening around 9:20 p.m., a man (36) from Bevern (Holzminden district, Lower Saxony) drove his Skoda Fabia on Krackser Straße in Bielefeld in an underpass against an A2 motorway bridge.
The car came to a standstill on the roof in the lane of the opposite lane, police and prosecutors reported on Saturday morning. Fire fighters recovered father and son.
Doctors tried to reanimate the driver at the scene of the accident – unfortunately without success. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital. In the course of the evening he also succumbed to his serious injuries.
The police: “Previous investigations suggest that the driver acted with suicidal intent.” Since the son was also killed in the accident, the police and the public prosecutor classified the accident as a homicide.
The Bielefeld police set up the “Krackser” homicide squad.
