Bayern have a new goal-dream duo!
Thomas Müller (31) and Kingsley Coman (24) save Bayern after two deficits the 3: 3 against Leipzig – and thus the championship lead.
While Coman prepares all (!) Goals (now eight goals in the last four competitive games), Müller steers his team’s game loudly as always. And also scores two goals himself.
Müller – who else !? The “national player on call” scored six goals in nine league games and prepared six more!
THAT WAS AWESOME!
In the fast-paced top game, first against second, there is full throttle right from the start.
After just 95 seconds, a Sabitzer shot crashes into the crossbar, Leipzig comes into play much better. In the fifth minute, Müller wants to shake his teammates awake, screams: “Can someone take responsibility here ?!”
Brings nothing! A short time later the doorbell rings anyway.
19th minute: After a Müller bad pass, Leipzig countered in a flash. Nkunku curves around the run-out national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and slides in to make it 1-0.
Bavaria’s sleeper start in numbers:
► In the fourth league game in a row, the record champions are behind – the last time that happened in March 2010.
► Bayern conceded their fourth counterattack – the last time there were at this point in the season was 25 years ago.
Ironically, a 17-year-old brings the turning point!
In the 25th minute, Bayern coach Hansi Flick (55) brings Musiala for the injured Martinez. Just five minutes later, the top talent equalized from 18 meters (30th).
The third Bundesliga goal for the 17-year-old (previously only Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz) – it falls after a Müller command! When Musiala comes to the ball after a Coman pass, Müller yells: “Shoot!” And Musiala obeys obediently.
The boss himself then even makes it 2: 1. Coman plays in the sixteen to Müller, who pushes into the short corner – 2-1 Bayern (48th)!
But the defense remains Bavaria’s big problem!
Just two minutes after the 2-1 win, Haidara beat Kluivert. The loan from AS Roma sinks the ball flat in the long corner (36th). First Bundesliga goal in the fourth game for the son of Holland’s striker legend Patrick Kluivert.
And the top game madness just continues after the break – because Forsberg even heads 3: 2 for Leipzig (48th) after an Angelino cross!
RB breaks his Munich curse! In four previous attempts, the Leipzig team didn’t manage to score a single goal (just one point) – now it’s three.
Because Bayern continue to wobble: in the last nine competitive games they have conceded at least one goal – the last thing happened at the end of 2006. It is shocking how far away the central defenders Boateng and Süle are from their opponents in the three RB goals.
But it slips on the offensive – thanks to Müller and Coman. While Sané (starting XI) and Lewandowski disappoint, the duo is in top form! Coman crosses, Müller heads – 3: 3 (75th).
Once again, Müller is tearing Bavaria out! In the event of bankruptcy, the lead in the table would have been lost. As it is, Bayern remain the front runners despite two home draws in a row.
