Wiesbaden – Everything for the butterfly, nothing more for the dachshund!
The Teckelclub 1888 e. V. Leaseholder of an outdoor area of the city of Wiesbaden, on which assistance dogs are trained, among other things. Now the 208 members should look for another location.
And all because of a butterfly!
Because as part of the city’s future care program, a natural forest meadow is to be developed there again and the endangered species of butterfly, the dark blue butterfly, is to be saved.
Berthold Langenhorst (56), biologist at the Naturschutzbund Deutschland, says: “It’s five to twelve for the Wiesenknopf blue ant. That is why we can only support the action of the city of Wiesbaden. The animal is an important indicator for the ecosystem. “
Club boss Christa Fischer (67) and husband Peter (71) have been with the club since 1992. Christa is at the end of her nerve. 30 locations have already been visited, no one wants the Dachshund Club. Now the club is facing the end.
“Where should we all go with our dachshunds?” Asks the Fischer couple, disappointed. “The city slept through the subject for years. Now we have to take off here – just because of a butterfly … “
