An old warehouse, blue canisters, mountains of crystal meth … these pictures are very reminiscent of scenes from the cult series “Breaking Bad” – only this time in Holland, not far from the German border!
In the south-east of the Netherlands in Nederweert – less than half an hour’s drive from the German border – a huge drug laboratory has been discovered!
It is believed to be “the largest and most professional synthetic drug manufacturing facility ever discovered in the Netherlands”. That’s what the police said.
The laboratory had a production capacity of over 100 kilos of synthetic drugs per day, as the Dutch news agency ANP reported with reference to information from the authorities.
The laboratory was located in two interconnected warehouses in the middle of fields in the Belgian-German-Dutch border area. The investigators became aware of this through information “from encrypted chat messages”, the police said.
Accordingly, a 62-year-old Polish citizen was arrested on site. More arrests could follow.
