You meet your 18-year-old self and are allowed to say three words. What are you saying?
Amanda Knox (34) has a simple answer, she tweeted: “Study in Germany”.
One user asks: “What about studying in Germany? Is there something that is special and different from other places? ”Another replies:“ Your study time in Italy was not the best. ”
Don’t lose the bitter sarcasm or the humor – however, this tweet gives you goosebumps! Because Amanda Knox is “the angel with the eyes of ice”.
On November 2, 2007, she is said to have stabbed her roommate Meredith Kercher († 21) in a night full of drug and sex excesses in Perugia, Italy. In 2009, an Italian court sentenced Knox to 26 years in prison for murder – her supposedly cold look in court is the reason for the nickname, which the defendant is still unable to shed.
The murder case is followed by a judicial crime thriller that has no equal anywhere in the world: Knox appeals. On October 3, 2011, the appellate jury in Perugia overturned the verdict: acquittal for “proven innocence”. Knox is returning to the United States immediately.
But the nightmare doesn’t end there!
In March 2013, the Italian Supreme Court overturned the acquittal. In 2014, Amanda Knox was convicted again in absentia: guilty! A new appeal process follows – and the acquittal on March 27, 2015.
The court has thus spoken the last word in the case – but has it also confirmed the truth?
“Some think I’m innocent – and some think I’m guilty. There’s nothing in between, ”Amanda said after the final acquittal. “Either I’m a psychopath, a crazy wolf in sheep’s clothing. Or I’m like you. “
To this day the murder of Meredith Kercher moves many questions. Only one thing was clear: it was a community murder involving three people. So far, however, only one has been legally convicted: Rudy Guede, a burglar known to the police. He is serving a 16-year prison sentence.
