Mike Luciano (55) – or: how lucky can a single person be in the lottery?
According to newspaper reports, the American from Altoona (Pennsylvania) has pocketed his FOURTH win. The 55-year-old won one million US dollars. Overall, gambling made Luciano, nicknamed “Lucky” – 4.6 million richer. That corresponds to a little more than four million euros.
The winnings break down as follows:
- In 1999, Mike Luciano raked in $100,000.
- It took him 17 years to win three million. He used the money to buy a bar in his hometown.
- In 2020, “Lucky” completed the hat trick, taking home $500,000.
- And now, just a year later, the restaurateur hit a $1 million jackpot.
His wife Shelly said of the third win: “He wins because he’s such a good person. He’s always helping others – and I think that’s why luck comes back.”

That might only be part of the truth. Mike Luciano admitted at the time: “I’m convinced that no one wins as often without playing more than they should.” He couldn’t be more grateful, but: “People shouldn’t do what I do. I don’t want them to think that just because it happens to me they’re going to win too.”
A man from Michigan also recently won the lottery. But Gregory Jarvis († 57) drowned with the note in his wallet before he could redeem the prize. Read the whole story here.
