The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) recommends vaccinating five to eleven year old children with previous illnesses! You are supposed to get the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer.
If they so wish, children without a previous illness could also be vaccinated, announced the Stiko, based at the Robert Koch Institute, on Thursday. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) gave the go-ahead for the vaccine to be used in children at the end of November.

When the vaccine was approved by the EU for those aged twelve and over in May, Stiko initially only recommended vaccinations for adolescents with previous illnesses. Then in August she had the vaccination all Recommended from the age of twelve and referred to a broader database.
Children’s vaccine not even available yet
However, this cannot be used to vaccinate immediately: the Biontech vaccine for children is dosed lower than that for adults and contains only a third of the dose. Therefore it has to be specially produced and delivered in special ampoules.
This children’s vaccine should be available from December 13th.
No particular risk for all children
Experts had already expected that the vaccination would only be recommended by Stiko for children with previous illnesses.
Pediatrician Jakob Maske explains: “Fortunately, healthy children rarely get seriously ill with a corona infection. This raises the question of the medical sensibility of a corona vaccination for the youngest. “
The doctor urgently advises concerned parents against storming pediatricians’ practices because of the approval of the vaccine for younger children in order to get hold of a spade.
Mask: “Not only because it takes a while before the child vaccination is really possible. The practices are already working to the limit anyway. In addition, it is difficult for us to provide the young people for whom there is a Stiko recommendation with vaccines. “
