After two home failures against Türkgücü Munich, FSV Zwickau finally wants to shine at home again. Marco Schikora (26) also needs to be in a position to keep the offensive against the newly promoted player (13 goals in 6 games) safe.
The new addition from Offenbach is one of the biggest surprises in the FSV team so far. In his first season as a professional, Schikora is surprisingly ripped off on the left side of the back three. In the derby victory in Dresden, the defender even hit with the hoe.
Schikora: “For two match days I have been able to move forward with standards. It was my first goal in professional football. This is not so common at the age of 26. That’s why I mark the day thickly on my calendar. “
Via Havelse, Egestorf / Langreder, Viktoria Berlin and Offenbach, Schikora landed in Zwickau in the summer. The FSV is his first professional station. Schikora: “In my family and friends, nobody used to make money with football. I played in the regional league for many years and started studying business administration. But when my flat-share buddy Hendrik Weydandt made it all the way to the top at Hannover 96, I was also very ambitious. I finally got to the FSV via detours. “
It was obviously the right decision for both sides. Schikora immediately became a regular in Zwickau. The late starter: “I immediately felt that it was very harmonious and familiar here. Everyone would jump into the fire for the other. I like that.”
