Frankfurt – For people with a fear of heights, this sight can hardly be endured: on Tuesday evening, a man climbed up the facade of a Frankfurt office tower on Mainzer Landstrasse – without protection, without permission. 142 meters high!
When he arrived on the roof after almost an hour, the police arrested him.
The climber is Marcin Banot. The 33-year-old Pole published a video on Instagram that shows him just before the top of the skyscraper – he filmed down, up, then showed himself in the reflection of the “Frankfurter Büro Center”.
The extreme athlete wore yellow and blue clothes, the national colors of Ukraine. In addition, the lettering with “Stop the War” (in German: “Stop the war”).
So the action was a protest against Putin’s war in Ukraine.
The climber had to take the elevator back down. He was unharmed.
According to the police, it is still unclear whether there is an investigation against him. The fire brigade and the height rescue group, the rescue service and the police were in action.
